August  die Cotswoldsreise. England erlebte den hei\u00dftesten Sommer seit es Aufzeichnungen gibt und auch einen der trockendsten. Die Felder und Wiesen leuchteten goldfarben, nicht alle Pflanzen kamen mit den Bedingungen zurecht. Farne, Silberkerzen und andere (bei uns) Schattenstauden, die sonst dort selbst in der Sonne gut gedeihen, zeigten verbrannte Bl\u00e4tter &amp; Bl\u00fcten. Wirklich schlimm war die Trockenheit jedoch nur in Hidcote. Der Garten ist zu weitl\u00e4ufig, um h\u00e4ndisch zu gie\u00dfen oder zu beregnen. Dennoch tat mir das Herz weh, als ich die vertrockneten gro\u00dfen Hortensienstr\u00e4ucher sah. Ob die sich wohl erholen &#8230;.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir wohnten zum 1. Mal im Bilderbuchdorf Bourton-on-the-Water. Die meisten Tagestouristen fuhren am fr\u00fchen Abend wieder ab, Abend- und auch Morgenspazierg\u00e4nge lie\u00dfen uns in eine vergangene Zeit eintauchen. Abgesehen von der Farbenpracht der G\u00e4rten wird nicht nur mir die Begeisterung der jeweiligen G\u00e4rtner in Erinnerung bleiben. Paul mit seinem entz\u00fcckenden Peter-Pan-Wesen, Jake mit seiner Energie &amp; Enthusiasmus und nat\u00fcrlich Speedy Alex, der den weitl\u00e4ufigen Garten von Miserden Hall mehr oder weniger alleine betreut. Sie alle waren eine Inspiration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2026 findet ja erstmals eine Adventreise in die Cotswolds statt. Daf\u00fcr kamen mir w\u00e4hrend dieser Woche noch weitere Ideen. anschlie\u00dfend ging es nach Norfolk. Was f\u00fcr eine sch\u00f6ne Kombination, zuerst Chocolatebox-England und dann die weite K\u00fcstenlandschaft nord\u00f6stlich von London. Einige Damen unserer Gruppe n\u00fctzten die M\u00f6glichkeit zum t\u00e4glichen Morgenschwimmen &#8230; und hatten meinen vollen Respekt. Ich konnte mich bei diesen Wasser- und Morgentermperaturen nicht aufraffen. Jetzt tut es mir leid, ich h\u00e4tte es zumindest probieren sollen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Walled Garden von Felbrigg Hall war um diese Jahreszeit ein Farbenmeer, perfekt gepflegt, mit vielen guten Ideen. Blickling Hall hingegen fand ich etwas traurig, vielleicht auch, weil die Terrasse immer noch nicht fertig renoviert ist. East Ruston Vicarage Garden war wie immer ein Highlight. Auf diesen Garten muss man sich einfach einlassen, sich von einem Gartenzimmer zum anderen treiben lassen. Und zwischendurch auf eine Bank setzen, um den Ideen- und Pflanzenreichtum dieser Anlage zu verarbeiten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code><div class=\"rl-gallery-container rl-loading\"
